Thermaseal are specialists in roofing renovation, roof coating and preservation treatments, installing a waterproofing system that is a low cost alternative to re roofing.

With the unique Therma Seal application you can now transform the look of your home from this ... to this..through roof coating.

Roof tiles perform an amazing job, by repelling the very harshest elements of our British weather; they also make up the largest visible surface of your property.

Moss and lichen growth on roofs creates an unsightly appearance and can reduce the value of your home. During winter months water absorption increases the weight and stress of the tiles, caused by freezing and thawing.  This can shorten the life span of a roof, ultimately leading to costly repairs or re-roofing.

Even when Moss and Lichen are not a problem, over time concrete roof tiles can become more porous with erosion which will weaken the structure of the roof.

When our ThermaSeal specialists arrive at your home the first step is to ensure their safety while they work on your roof. After a detailed risk assessment specialist access equipment is erected. This is essential to ensure that our team has safe access to your roof for the duration of the treatment. Preparation begins by laying protective coverings around the outside of your home.

The first stage of the roof coating process is the cleaning of your roof. Our high pressure washer with a turbo nozzle lance is specially designed for removing all moss, lichen, dirt and pollutants from the entire roof surface, without causing any damage to the roof tiles. Drainage down pipes are covered and gutter end caps are removed to prevent the blocking of any drains during this process.

Here you can clearly see the difference between the discolored tiles and the deep cleaned ones. It is very important that the tiles are as clean as possible so that the final treatment will be absorbed properly, and evenly, into each and every tile. Moss, dirt and debris washed down from your roof during the cleaning process is bagged and taken away by our installers.

Finally, all visible surfaces of your home and surrounding area are thoroughly rinsed down and cleaned.

When your roof is clean, it is easier to assess its condition. Ridge tiles, hips, bonnet tiles and valleys, are all thoroughly checked to ensure that they are in good repair and firmly fixed.

The second stage is to replace any broken, cracked or missing tiles where necessary. In this case a ridge tile is found to be loose and in need of re-pointing. Our skilled team will re-bed or re-point where necessary to the highest standard.

The third stage is the application of the anti-fungicidal wash. This will ensure the roof will stay moss free for many years to come. When we are happy with the condition of the roof, we begin the Fourth stage of the process which is to apply a unique water resistant, breathable bonding agent to the tiles. This works like

Gortex making your roof completely water proof yet at the same time allowing the roof to breathe and letting water vapor escape thus keeping your roof in prime condition. We begin the roof coating process by first “cutting in” around the edges of your  roof to ensure a clean and neat finish. Then with the use of specialized airless spray equipment we apply the treatment to the rest of the roof.

Two coats are always applied to ensure a lasting result.

Roofing materials have a tough job when it comes to withstanding the elements; driving rain, hail, sleet and baking sun all contribute to the eventual deterioration and erosion of roof tile surfaces. Normally after 20 to 30 years, concrete roof tiles start to become porous, absorbing moisture and creating the perfect environment for mosses and lichens to thrive, not to mention sand washing out of the tiles.

Other roof tile products, such as clay, withstand the British weather conditions better but are prone to suffer more from frost damage. Without protection, continual exposure to frost will lead to rapid deterioration of whole areas of the roof.

General wear and tear such as worn flashings, crumbling pointing mortar and loose/cracked tiles can be a headache for both home-owners and landlords.

In the past, a roof in poor condition meant that a costly total replacement was the only remedy, but this is no longer the case. ThermaSeal has now successfully restored thousands of roofs. ThermaSeal roof restoration system eliminates the need for total roof replacement.

This is more environmentally considerate and a lot more cost effective. ThermaSeal will totally transform any roof. The application of protective coatings and sealants provide year on year protection and stops further erosion.
